Certification/Recertification
Center for Nursing Education & Testing Update Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Center for Nursing Education and Testing (CNET) is transitioning both the CPSN and CANS examinations to a computer-based testing format. Due to the complexities of this task, this will not be finalized until early 2021. As a result of this, CNET will not offer CPSN or CANS examinations in the fall of 2020. If you applied to take the spring exam, and your application was pushed to the fall examination dates, or if you have already applied for the fall examinations, CNET will carry your application forward to the 2021 examinations. As additional information is received, both the ISPAN and PSNCB websites will be continually updated accordingly. The ISPAN recognizes the value of education, administration, research, and clinical practice in fostering personal and professional growth which is why our members receive certification through the Plastic Surgical Nursing Certification Board (PSNCB) at a discounted rate. The PSNCB was established in 1989 for the purpose of promoting the highest standards of plastic surgical nursing practice through the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of all aspects of the certification and recertification processes. The PSNCB is comprised of registered nurses with content expertise in plastic surgical nursing. The Board collaborates with the Center for Nursing Education and Testing (C-NET) in test development, test administration, and test evaluation. Two certification examinations are offered to nurses meeting the specified criteria, the Certified Plastic Surgical Nurse (CPSN) and the Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS). Visit the PSNCB website for additional information. RecertificationThe CANS and CPSN recertification process through the Plastic Surgical Nursing Certification Board (PSNCB) is now officially online! As of 2017, if you are recertifying, your application will only be accepted via the online submission site. To access your recertification form, please login to the Nurses Area of the PSNCB website. |
