Board of Directors

The ISPAN Board Directors consists the President, President-Elect, Secretary-Treasurer, immediate Past President and four Directors. The Board is equally Plastic Surgical Nurses and Aesthetic Nurses.

	President Kristi Elliott, APRN, FNP-C, CPSN, CANS, ISPAN-F Kristi has been a nurse for over 30 years. She started her career in Women's Health but transitioned to Plastic Surgery in 2007. Since then, she has worked in both private and academic practices with aesthetic and reconstructive patients. She has also served on many ISPAN committees and as a Board Member, Secretary/Treasurer, and current President.

	Secretary/Treasurer Pamela Messina, BSN, CPSN, CNOR, CANS, RNFA, ISPAN-F Pamela is a registered nurse with over 40 years of clinical experience of which the last 30 have been in the specialty of plastic surgery. Holding multiple certifications, Pamela is currently practicing as the clinical nurse manager in both the academic and private sectors. Given her vast clinical and research experience, she serves as a resource for several New York plastic surgery offices. Having served on the Membership Engagement Committee, as a Director, and a second term as Secretary-Treasurer, Pam hopes to continue her service to ISPAN to promote further growth, development and integrity in all aspects, both surgical and aesthetic, of the plastic surgical nurse.

	Director Michele McCullough, RN Brigham & Womens/Faulkner Hospital Michele has been a registered nurse for over 25 years. She has spent the last 10 years working in The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Michele has been active in ISPAN since joining in 2012. Michele has served on the Educational Program Committee and as the Chair of the Membership Engagement Committee.

	Director Georgia Cirese, RN, CANS, CLT Georgia was one of the first group of Nurses to obtain the board-certified credentials as a Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS). She began working in the aesthetic field in 1999, learning the pearls of the industry by supporting plastic surgeon and best-selling author Jerome Lamb, MD, in his state-of-art surgery center and Medical Spa. Her passion for safe patient care combined with her talented aesthetic eye allowed her to combine science and art to develop expertise with aesthetic injections. read more In 2005, she joined a dermatology practice, treating patients in Leawood, KS and in 2006 adding Lee's Summit, MO. This transition allowed her to add laser and skin care treatments to her menu of services, providing a full continuum of care to patients within this well-known dermatology center. Georgia's work allowed her to treat over thousands of patients in the Kansas City market every year, becoming the largest provider of Allergan products in the area. Education and training have long been a passion for Georgia. She has enjoyed serving as a mentor for others in the industry. She has been an AMI trainer for Allergan since 2009 and trains nationally for the premier Continuing Medical Education training company, Aesthetic Advancements Institute. Her skill has also been recognized by the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses as she has served on the committee, faculty and serves on the membership engagement committee as well as ISPAN Board of directors. Georgia has also been a speaker for ISPAN national meetings many times. Georgia brings years of education and experience to her aesthetic practice, providing patients with safe and natural looking injections. Her philosophy will always focus on helping patients to looking fresh and natural, believing that “the best aesthetic treatments are undetectable.” In October 2019, Georgia partnered with her daughter Mary Katelyn Cirese opened Georgous Aesthetic Bar located two blocks north of the Country Club Plaza inside the Fisher Law Building. As Kansas City's first Aesthetic Bar, she knew she wanted to focus on becoming a premier aesthetic clinic with patient safety and natural outcomes her foundation of the clinic. Georgia has assisted with many national workshops with Accomplished Doctor's in Medical Aesthetics and plastic surgery over the last several decades. Her passion for education and teaching keeps her on top of the newest treatments and techniques.

	Director Sonya Ellis, RN, MSN, CPSN, CANS Sonya M. Ellis is the co-founder, lead injector and head trainer at the L.A.B., an award-winning med spa located in Southlake Texas. She has been injecting for over 18 years, has been in plastic surgery and aesthetics for 25 years, and is considered a KOL in the industry. She is also one of only two nurses in the state of Texas to not only hold a certification in Aesthetics but also Plastic Surgery. She trains for some of the top aesthetic manufacturers, lectures at several aesthetic conferences, and served as the Aesthetic Chair for the International Society of Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Nursing Education Committee. She offers private and group advanced technique classes in her state-of-the-art training facility located 15 minutes away from the DFW Airport. She loves to train and mentor the next generation of injectors.

	Immediate Past President Gerrie Obi, MSN, ARNP, RN, CPSN, ISPAN - F Jacksonville Plastic Surgery Gerrie is certified in Adult and Geriatric Primary Care and Plastic Surgery Nursing. Over the past decade she has held positions in several of the major aesthetic corporations serving as a an educator and physician liaison providing clinical and scientific support for various products. She is also an international trainer; she trains the trainers as well as other Master injectors, both nationally and internationally. Gerrie has trained thousands of aesthetic providers globally over the past decades as well as providing innovative Aesthetic care for countless clients in private practice for over 35 years.
