Are you ready for your Accreditation Inspection?
According to ASPS statistics, in 2011, there were 1.6 million cosmetic surgical procedures performed. Of this number, 60% were performed in office facilities. For over 30 years, AAAASF (American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Facilities) has had an accreditation program that develops and implements standards of excellence to ensure the highest quality of patient safety in outpatient facilities. AAAASF is considered the "gold" standard in the industry.

Many of you are hearing exciting news about the development of the CANS (Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist) Exam. The certification exam will be designed to assess the extent to which registered nurses have attained the knowledge and skills (competencies) deemed necessary by a task force of the PSNCB for competent practice as a non-surgical aesthetic nurse.
Dear Miss Adventures,
I am not really a pediatric nurse; in fact, I didn't expect to see any pediatric patients when I joined the plastic surgery team in the operating room. I thought we would mostly take care of adult patients that paid cash for cosmetic procedures too complex to be done in the office.
